THE LAW MAGNET
Shadowing Program
What is shadowing at Judge Barefoot Sander Law Magnet?
Shadowing is the opportunity for eighth grade students to spend the day at JBS and experience firsthand what it's like to be a member of the JBS Law family. Students that shadow are paired with a Law student for the day to attend classes, go to lunch, possibly attend live court cases and get a true feel for student life at JBS Law.
What is a shadowing day like?
Students shadowing should arrive by 8:45 a.m. and report to the front office (Suite 203) where they will be paired with a student host. The pair will attend normal classes and have lunch together. The school day ends at 4:15 p.m., but the host will return the visiting student to the office at 3:30 p.m. where they may be picked up. Students may bring their own lunch or eat free in the cafeteria. Student should also come dressed as if they were attending court.
Is shadowing a full day or a half day?
Students shadow for the entire day to fully experience life at JBS, however half days may be arranged upon request.
What dates does the program run through?
The program begins November 2 and ends December 4, 2015.
Shadowing appointments are not available: Nov 9.
How do I schedule a shadowing visit?
Those interested in shadowing should contact Ms. Ramirez, in the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet Office at 972-925-5953. Excuse notes are provided to visiting students.
